G-ZBAP was initially delivered to Air 2000, which was later renamed to First choice Airways, as G-OOAT in 2001.

After severals mergers and takeovers, this a320 was operated by Monarch from 2014 onwards.

Monarch Airlines, a British carrier founded in 1967, was headquartered in Luton. It operated scheduled and charter flights linking the UK with destinations across Europe, the United States, the Caribbean, India, and Africa. Known for its budget-friendly options, Monarch played a significant role in the leisure travel sector. It operated from several UK bases, including London Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham. Financial difficulties led to Monarch Airlines ceasing operations in October 2017.
