About this aircraft
“Parakeet” was the name of this exotic airplane.
In cooperation with Air Mauritius we are happy to offer this piece of aviation history.
In 1997 3B-NBD was delivered brand new to Air Mauritius and flew until 2021 for this great and unique Airline. After more than 20 years successful in service, this aircraft had to make way for a more modern successor - the Airbus A350.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the A340 was one of the most modern long-haul aircraft, and with its 4 engines opened up new possibilities for airlines, since it was not limited by ETOPS.
We could not miss the opportunity to add this Air Mauritius A340-300 to our aircrafttag coaster collection.
Enjoy this video of the very last landing of 3B-NBD at Twente Airport.
Please be informed, that you order a piece of aviation history. This aircrafttag travelled for more than 1 decade around the world between +40°C and -60°C. This is why you may find dents and scratches on it. As well imperfections of paint may occur. But this is what we want to provide to you.
We remind you that this coaster is not suitable for children.
Scratches are the point
This aluminium spent decades between +40 °C on the ramp and −60 °C at altitude, through rain, hail, de-icing fluid and ultraviolet light. It has dents, scratches and paint wear. That wear is the evidence that it flew - a flawless piece would mean it never did.
